Description
One speaker handles the amplifying for both — simpler wiring than a fully passive setup, while still delivering full stereo output across the pair. This TA8 configuration is the middle ground in the ExtremeTower lineup: unlike the battery-powered TB8 and TBB8 models, this pair draws power directly from your vehicle's electrical system rather than running on internal batteries, making it the right fit for a fixed, permanent installation rather than a portable, take-anywhere setup.
The ExtremeTower Series by SoundExtreme is a family of performance tower speakers designed for those who want a full, mid-bass sound and clean, detailed highs in a compact form factor rather than the thin, underwhelming output that smaller marine speakers often deliver. In this configuration, one tower houses the Bluetooth amplifier and handles pairing, volume, and signal processing for the whole pair, while the second tower runs passively off that same amplified signal — meaning you get complete stereo sound from a single Bluetooth connection point rather than needing to pair or wire two separate amplified units.
SoundExtreme Tower speakers include rotatable, no-tool quick-release mounts, letting you adjust the direction and angle of both towers to suit your seating position or cabin layout without needing tools or a permanent mounting commitment. Because only one of the two speakers needs to handle amplification and Bluetooth pairing, this setup is simpler to wire than running two fully independent amplified speakers, while still being more capable than a fully passive pair that requires an external amplifier altogether. This makes the TA8 a practical choice for owners who want genuine wireless Bluetooth audio without the added cost and complexity of battery management in both towers.
